CACHULLAPI
The Cachullapi was born from the combination of the Albazo with the Alza in the 20th century. It is a mestizo rhythm common mainly in the central and northern highlands of Ecuador (and among the indigenous Salasacas of Tungurahua). It is a very happy, lively rhythm that tests the physical capacity of the dancers.
Among the instruments used for its interpretation are the violin, guitar, pinkullo, rondador, bandolin or mandolina, arpa, and tambor.
